New Album - Hitting the Hard Road Straight

November 9, 2008

This month has been busy putting the finishing touches on a new album, “Hitting the Hard Road Straight.” The album was recorded this fall using a number of instruments that I’ve become proficient at in the past few years. I was fortunate enough to be able to borrow an upright bass, which adds greatly to the dynamics of the songs.

This is easily my best album yet and the songs are bittersweet, focusing on loss, betrayal, politics, pain, and truth.

In the spring, I’m hoping to release this album as well as “A Quick Walk with Me” from last fall in a double-CD release party featuring a full band performing these songs.

September Updates

September 10, 2008

Hi folks, thanks for stopping by my website. This spring and summer was lots of fun playing out west in Alberta and playing the Edmonton Folk Festival. Thanks to all those people who supported me and bought the CD.

This fall is a short tour out west again to Alberta and Saskatchewan and returning to the road again next spring. People from the U.S are asking me when I'll be returning that way for tours but with the economy and gas prices where they are it is not feasible at this time to tour south.

Some of you may wonder why I've stopped using MySpace and Facebook but I decided it was too childish and time consuming, along with privacy issues and being tied to a corporate advertising mechanism (wasn't worth it). Those of you wondering where I am or what is new can contact me anytime through this site.

I've been working on getting new photos for my picture section. The photos on here are quite outdated and I should change them (my beard is turning white!).

At this time I'm playing mostly solo shows but do enlist the help of some local Winnipeg musicians for a few shows here and there.

Anybody who would like me to come play any function I'd be glad to hear from you. I have three large binders full of songs (original and covers) and can cover most requests (except Cannibal Corpse - still working on that one!).
